Escapist
From Paris with Love
Book of Eli
Unthinkable
Youth In Revolt
Already a Cult Classic, we're still talking about it. Hecka funny, and even though you may think that Michael Cera is type cast and running the Heder risk, he pulls it out and totally redeems himself. Good for girls and boys, anyway, I'd put this in the top 3 for rentals right now if you haven't seen it.
Green Zone
Single Man
Yeah Yeah, Tom Ford's first directed movie, I'm sure you've all heard that. Great cinematography, really well done. A Single Man is definitely for the patient, but if you can get around a slow movie, with a simple topic then this movie is for you. Colin Firth's nomination for awards is justified, since the entire movie is basically about his coping.
Anyway, good movie, rent it, but make sure you know its a slow movie.
Chloe
Cop Out
This looked totally stupid. I wasn't going to get it. we ran out of movies to see this week and picked it up. It's not bad. Tracy Morgan comedy I think is always good. He's his standard funny, I have a feeling he wrote some of his lines. Standard die Hard Performance from Bruce Willis. Bottom of the list, but watchable.
Girl with a Dragon Tatoo
Yup hella good. Reco from Steve who really liked it. Obviously the books get rave reviews. This seems to deviate off the book's path a little, but works in the end, accomplished the task. 2 Things. First swedish actors are super ugly. More real life i guess. Second, get this before the American version comes out. This is subtitled, but super dark and graphic, something I think will be lost when Hollywood gets there hands on it.
Total reco, top of the que
The Horseman
Repo Men
Brooklyn's Finest
Training Day redux... kind of. This movie has gotten mixed reviews, some love, some hate. I think it does what you know it will do. Gritty police tale / with a dark twist, about life on the streets. Action was good, movie was believable. I think when you have good actors it helps, Don Cheadle is probably entertaining eating cereal. The villain in the film was a stretch. Watchable, I wouldn't go out of my way to get it, but if your cruising for something on a plane it passes the time well. Welcome back Wesley Snipes....
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
IP Man
Critics rated it "the best martial arts movie of all time hands down." Well that's a tall statement considering Tony Jaa makes movies. I can say it was close. It is a true story based on a real person, so that helps. This was a Chinese movie, definitely smaller production. I thought it was really good. Innovative fight scenes, traditionally stylized. I liked it a lot... better than Tom Yum Goong.... nah, but better than most for sure.

Valentine's Day
Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus
Road
Dear John
Stolen
The New Daughter
44 inch chest
The Young Victoria
This movie won some awards for best costumes or something like that. Needless to say, I was reaching on this one. The movie was slow, so don't expect something that won't require some patience. That said, it was good. Interesting story, seemed pretty historically accurate, good acting, and worth the rent for sure.

Leap Year
Yeah, I saw this. It was tolerable. almost..... It deserves a nice bottle of wine for sure.
Um, not much more to say, I wouldn't rent it for me. If your GF rents it, you deserve to have her watch something awesome like ninja assasin for this.
PS Yes, Ninja Assasin is awesome, if you don't think so, you've forfeited your movie opinions. DAVE
Daybreakers
Edge of Darkness
Nine
Nine is a musical with Daniel Day Lewis and others. I thought it was a good movie... for a musical. Some songs were good, although I did think that they all sounded pretty similiar, not that much depth in music writing. Once and a while we would have to fast forward a song, but Guido (DDL's performance) held it together.

Men Who Stare at goats
Expecting that Steve Zissou, out of nowhere, cult classic... this isn't it. It was funny, quirky, worth renting.... but lacked the red hats and glocks that could have put it over the top.Rent it, cause you kinda have to, but don't go running out for it. Perfect download queue movie, cause they take so long to populate.
Everybody's Fine
So I can't remember this for the life of me. Hold on....Oh yeah, Robert De Niro. So you could probably have a decent movie if you just watched him tie his shoes, and I really liked it. Not what you'd expect, and a lot weirder than the previews and cover would have you believe. But if you have 3 you really want to see, and need another... get this. It's slow, and a decent flick.
Possession
Dolan's Cadillac
Where the Wild Things Are
Did you Hear About the Morgans
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Echelon Conspiracy
This movie was a no name sci fi movie that looked to be pretty bad. Honestly i wasn't looking forward to a fun night when we picked this up. It turned out to be a decent movie. Definitely not a top shelf slot, but worth a non new release free bee.
It has ed burns, shane west, and vinghn rhames. i really don't care if i spelt those right.
Fantastic Mr Fox
Hecka Good. It's a semi Kid movie, pretty much like anything i've ever seen, but it was more adult than cloudy with a chance of meatballs. The whole movie was like the cutaway scenes from Steve Zissou's ship. So I recommend it for immediate rental. On your top 45 list, just know its still slightly geared towards wholesome.
Bad Lieutenant
Hmmm. It wasn't as bad as some of the latest Nick Cage movies..... but it was pretty bad. It was WATCHABLE!!! Nicolas Cage is a friggin dork. He does his standard drugged up routine like well standard. Actually Val Kilmer was ok in it... Lost some weight. Looks like it was an old Harvey Kietel remake. His was most likely better.
Iron Man
Education
I didn't know what this was. It was a Brynn reco that I rented. Then I saw the beginning and thought CRAP. I saw this preview like a million times and it looks totally lame. It wasn't. A chick flick that guys can put up with. Can't recommend to like a friend on a Sat night... but it goes perfect with Ninja Assassin.

Endgame
Engaging isn't what you'd call a movie you were able to finish 3 reviews during. Its 30 min in, and I am already close to tossing in the towel. So far I enjoyed the opel's, and older peugot's, like a french vintage car show.
Good thing I wrote this early. This move was pretty lame and i totally didn't remember it. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I even watched the whole thing.
The Private Lives of Pippa Lee
Hey, here's where Keanu Reeves went. Don't let all the big names fool you, its actually an ok movie. Winona Ryder isn't in it much. It's not super exciting, i'd call it a semi "chick flick" to an extent. Of the 90% of crappy chick flicks out there, this one's probably in the top 10 percent to rent. Rainy Sunday when you're tired of our video games.
Boondock Saints 2
You probably wouldn't get the Boondock Saints T shirt if this was the only movie in the series you'd seen. However a follow up to a cult classic with ten years in between is hard to do, and this movie didn't take itself too seriously and accomplished the task. Se it if you loved the first one, if you haven't.... watch the first one, see how it goes, and get this when you're wanting more.
Actually if you want more, watch the first one again, then watch 2. I did enjoy it though. Matt you should rent it.
